Canada’s first forage wheat variety now available

After decades of development, CDC Bandit is now ready for Canadian livestock producers seeking a new annual forage option

CDC Bandit doesn’t look like other wheat.

For one thing, its leaves are wider than most wheat varieties.

However, the biggest difference is the lack of awns, the bristles attached to spring, durum and winter wheat varieties in Western Canada that stick up from the wheat heads. As a result, the heads look unfamiliar and odd.
