Marrisa Janssen is the Manager of USask's Crop Development Centre and one of Seed World United States Top 15 Management Mavericks in North America.

Seed World describes a Management Maverick as an individual who breaks away from conventional expectations, showing creativity and originality.  They are usually unafraid to forge new paths or to challenge the status quo, making them pivotal in driving change and progress in their environments. In their September 2024 issue, Seed World United States named the top 15 Mavericks from across North America.  

Marissa Janssen is the Manager of USask's Crop Development Centre.  She joined the CDC in 2020 when it was determined that a new organizational structure to facilitate contract management, stakeholder engagement, branding and communications was needed. Working jointly with the CDC Director, she oversees the strategic direction, mission and vision of the CDC.

Marissa is originally from the Netherlands.  She earned a bachelor's and master's degree of law from the University of Amsterdam. She has dual experience in law and human resources bringing a wealth of experience which has enhanced the operations at the CDC.
